Oso

Oso
WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

My name is Oso.

Are you a boy or girl?

I’m such a good boy!

How old are you?

About 4 years old.

What breed are you?

I’m a bully mix.

How much do you weigh?

I am about 35 pounds.

Who do you live with?

I live with my foster mom, foster dad and foster sister. I also live with two female dogs and one male dog. My foster mom is my current favorite and I love being next to her while she works in her home office. My foster dad is a close second though. I have fun helping him work in the yard. Lots of people have come over to visit and I loved meeting them all!

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?

I am a good boy napping in my crate.

WHERE DO you sleep?

I am cozy and comfortable in my crate overnight and I enjoy napping on the couch during the day.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?

I love being out on short walks and exploring the neighborhood. I’m learning not to walk back and forth in front of my humans, I guess it can trip them. My foster mom says she’s proud of me because I walk with a “loose leash.” That must be a good thing!

DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

My humans don’t think I had a lot of exposure to much love and kindness prior to moving in with them. Sometimes I get so excited to give them kisses that I sometimes nibble on them and pinch them. I sometimes do this to the other dogs also and they seem to not care for it too much either. My foster mom is teaching me to be calmer when I get like this. I’m learning more and more each day. I’m glad she’s teaching me manners.

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?

I am excited to announce that I am officially crate trained! My foster parents think I spent most of my time in a crate and didn’t know that I shouldn't go potty in there. I have not had an accident in the house and have learned to go to the back door so I can potty outside. I am such a good boy (if I do say so myself)!

DO YOU LIKE WATER?

No large bodies of water for me, I’ll probably sink. But I do love baths and running through the hose when my foster mom waters her plants. 💦

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?

I love that they give me so much love and patience to work on my not quirks. The three dogs that are here are an extra bonus because I always have someone to play with and learn from. My foster family gives me lots of cuddles and kisses and it makes me so happy. I am grateful they are giving me a fresh start and are teaching me what it really feels like to be part of a family.

WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE?

I was in a shelter not doing too great when they contacted this amazing rescue to bust me out! NorCal Bully Breed Rescue placed me quickly into a foster home, where I have learned what it means to be loved in a warm safe place. I’m so grateful for NorCal Bully Breed Rescue and my foster parents so that I can now find my forever home. Will you take me home and show me what it means to be loved by a family of my own?

WHAT IS YOUR ADOPTION FEE?

$300

What do you look like?

I have a very soft coat that is gray and white. I have the most adorable little button nose and a thick white stripe between my eyes. My foster mom says I’m a “lowrider”… I think it’s because I have short legs and am so low to the ground. She also says I look like I never miss a day at the gym because I like to show off my back and shoulder muscles.

WHat do you like to eat?

I love my kibble and the treats I get for being a good boy. “Churu bites” are delicious, but I am not picky at all!

What kind of personality Do you have?

I am very sweet and lovable. When it’s playtime, I am energetic and love to romp around with the three dogs I currently live with. Playing chase is so fun! We have so much fun together! But afterwards, I love to cuddle next to my human on the couch for a nice long nap. I love meeting new people too! I want to give them lots of kisses and enjoy all the cuddles and pets they give me!

Describe your perfect day

My perfect day would be to start the day with a yummy breakfast, a short little walk around the block to say hi to the neighbors, then a nice long nap, followed by some play time with my doggy foster siblings and then another long nap. I really like to earn treats when I get 1:1 time with my foster mom. I like learning new things with her, and she says I am a smart boy! Then dinner time and some cuddling on the couch with my humans. When it’s time for bed, I happily go to my crate and sleep through the night where I dream about doing it all again the next day!

What is your favorite Toy?

So far I really like Benebones. And sometimes I carry a soft plush toy around with me. Oh, and I like to play tug-o-war with my foster dad! He’s so fun to play with!

Do You Know any Tricks?

I’ve learned to take treats gently. I have quickly learned “sit,” although it’s more of a squat…it’s hard to get my bottom that low! I’m also working on “leave it” and “stay.” My foster mom says I am doing great so far. I am very food motivated and so eager to please!

What Scares you?

The ice machine is SO scary! That little iRobot vacuum is a little scary too! These noises startle me and I give a loud bark, but I quickly settle. The doorbell or outside noises do not bother me one bit though.

Have you been around children?

I have only been around my human foster sister who’s 16. I tend to be a little mouthy when I play with my humans, so I’m probably best with older children.

Do you like cats?

I think I will stick with my doggy friends. I’ll pass on the cats, thanks!

How do you feel about other DOGS?

Dogs are the BEST! I love playing with my doggy friends every chance I get. If I’m not napping or cuddling a human, I love to be with the other dogs. They help me feel confident and I am learning things from them too. They are teaching me to be more polite and play with them without being rude. I’m learning to pick up on their signals. My foster mom thinks I just get so excited to finally get to play that sometimes I need reminders to be polite. Thank goodness my doggy friends help me with that.

If you could be anywhere, where would it be?

My absolute favorite spot is on the couch where the morning sun shines in while cuddling with my human. If that’s not available, then I want to be anywhere else that my humans are.

HOw's your health?

I am a healthy boy!
