Oakley

Oakley
WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

Oakley

Are you a boy or girl?

I am the most adorable baby girl!

How old are you?

I am about 10 or 11 months old!

What breed are you?

I'm a bully mix.

How much do you weigh?

32 lbs of compact sweetness

Who do you live with?

My favorite person is my foster dad, because I stayed with him in his office the first two weeks here. I have a foster mom, a doggy foster brother, two kitty foster sisters, and two 21-year-old humans all to myself!

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?

There have only been a few times I have actually been alone, but I stay in my crate next to my foster parents’ bed. I did just fine because I’m a brave girl!

WHERE DO you sleep?

In my crate right next to my foster parents bed. They put a dark sheet over it at night, and I have a bed and a blanket in there, but I don’t really like to burrow as I tend to run hot.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?

Yes, especially if we’re headed to the park to play BALL! I get a little excited and tend to pull when it is park time. Can you blame me, though? It’s the park and a ball!

DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

Yes, I am a thief of socks! I also have a tendency to “disassemble” my tennis balls. Other than that, I might need normal puppy redirection, but really I am such a very a good girl!

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?

I am working on alerting my foster family that I have to go out. We don’t have a yard at my foster home, but my family takes me outside every two hours or so. Once outside, they say “go potty’ and I do my business! What a smart little girl I am, right?

DO YOU LIKE WATER?

I endure a bath like a champ, especially because I know a fabulous towel massage is coming, but this is not a body for swimming. Please keep me safe from pools!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?

They have all shown me so much love and made me a part of their family. They gave me time to decompress and heal, and now I feel great! We go everywhere together: for walks, to the park, to the levee, the local breweries … and everywhere I go, people just want to pet me because I’m the cutest thing they’ve ever seen!

WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE?

I’m not quite sure, actually. All I know is I ended up at a shelter feeling pretty itchy and lousy until NorCal Bully Breed Rescue saved me. My foster family has taken such good care of me so now I feel GREAT, I love life, and I am ready for my forever to start! I would love to meet you and come home with you so we can spend forever together. What do you think? Yeah? Let’s go!

WHAT IS YOUR ADOPTION FEE?

$300

What do you look like?

I am the most adorable mix of mismatched features! I have the head of a big dog, but my body is a whole different story! My paws are squishy and huge, and I look like a hot rod as my back end is taller than my front, but it’s all neatly packaged in a petite body! I am mostly white with one bullseye brown spot over my eye!

WHat do you like to eat?

I have my kibble, but I am learning from my doggy foster brother to eat Greek yogurt, blueberries, carrots, bananas, broccoli, green beans - all the healthy stuff! I even learned how to catch blueberries in my mouth, which is an improvement over when they used to just hit me on the head before. 🤭 I also love the peanut butter biscuits we get for our nightly treat!

What kind of personality Do you have?

I am still young, so I'm a go with the flow kinda girl! I am really mellow and easy to redirect. I am taking cues from my foster brother, and he is helping me learn the ropes of how to be a good dog. I am curious, loving and easygoing! I make some pretty funny noises when I’m happy, kind of like a baby dinosaur (at least that’s what foster mom says). Super cute, right? 🥰

Describe your perfect day

Everyday is a perfect day and it starts with MORNING, my favorite time of day! Once I am out of my crate, I go up on the bed, roll over on my back, and start air boxing and making my pterodactyl snorts and chortles! After morning cuddles, we eat, go potty and head off to the park for quick playtime. The rest of the day is lounging around while the humans work and playing with my foster brother. Life is so fun!

What is your favorite Toy?

B-A-L-L-S! I am crazy for BALLS! I love to hold them in my mouth and walk around with them. I also love the stuffies with the crinkle sounds – those keep me entertained!

Do You Know any Tricks?

Well, I can probably make you give me a treat by sitting down, so who's tricking who?! I have learned to sit when going in and out of the house or door, and now you don’t even have to ask me! I understand ‘’bed’’ and ‘’crate’’ too! When it is nighttime, I jump into my crate happily!

What Scares you?

I have not come across anything that scares me yet!

Have you been around children?

I have come across children on my walks and am interested in them when I see them from afar. I think I would be great with children; I am not jumpy or mouthy at all, just very easygoing.

Do you like cats?

Yes, I have two kitties in my foster home – we all get along great! I am learning to sit still when they get their treats and not try to take it from them, and if my doggy foster brother can do it, so can I! One of my kitty sisters even goes on pack walks with us!

How do you feel about other DOGS?

I am completely submissive with other dogs, as I am just a puppy and, in fact, I would love another dog in my new home! A playmate would be the best!

If you could be anywhere, where would it be?

Where all the feet and legs are! If you are working, I’ll be right beside you. If you’re on the couch, I’ll be on your lap. If you are walking around, I’ll follow you from room to room. I LOVE my people, but I also love going to the park to play with my BALLS!

HOw's your health?

I am a healthy girl thanks to my foster family and NorCal Bully Breed Rescue taking such great care of me! But since I have such short legs and the way my body is proportioned, it’s hard for me to ascend and descend a lot of stairs, so maybe a single story house might be best for me… unless you want to carry me up and down the stairs, which I have to admit, I kind of enjoy.
